Hey, I'm Emma,
I’m a professional comic book artist and creator for many companies including DC Entertainment, Marvel Comics, Image Comics and more. I’ve been writing and drawing my own stories for years, building my career on the creation of my own voice.
Comics and comic books allow us to communicate our thoughts, ideas, and stories to one another in a way that provides a full vision through words and pictures, while keeping the reading journey personal. It’s an all encompassing career and an absolute joy to do what I love to do everyday.
I designed this course to guide beginners through the exciting process of stylizing characters. My goal isn’t just to teach you how to draw a single character type but to give you the tools and confidence to explore your creativity and design a wide range of appealing characters.

Character & story design
You will learn how to develop original comic book ideas, build unique characters, and craft engaging storylines. This includes concept art, character design, and scriptwriting techniques—essential foundations for any great comic.
Mastering visual storytelling
This course teaches how to tell stories visually using composition, page layout, and sequential art. You will explore how to draw action scenes, dialogue moments, and dramatic splash pages that enhance the reader's experience.
Drawing and inking
From penciling characters and backgrounds to mastering inking techniques like shading, textures, and “filling in blacks,” you will gain hands-on skills in the core visual elements of comic creation—bringing your art to life.
COURSE CONTENT
The course has 8 modules for 6+ hours of learning and practicing. It also includes 50+ full-length artwork tutorials! You can pause and replay the videos as much as you want. The course is suitable for everyone, teens, adults and children because there is no explicit content. It would be best to take the course in order, because it will start from the basics to lessons at a more advanced level.

We will look together at the materials, basic techniques, and knowledge needed to begin this journey. Approaching a new technique means first learning how best to use the tools at your disposal.

Theory is important, but what makes you a true artist is practice... Lots of practice! You'll find lots of exercises to get started with and from which to get inspiration. I will show you some tricks that will make your drawings truly unique and masterpieces.
